Revenue of On-Street Parking Increased Signigicantly

The on-street terminal parking electronic (TPE) that was installed at some points in Jakarta has come to fruition. Besides minimizing traffic jam, it also increased the local tax revenue (PAD). 

Predictably, if TPE is applied on all SRP, the tax revenue from on-street parking could reach Rp 300 billion per year

Head of Parking Technical Management Unit for Jakarta Transportation Department, Sunardi Sinaga stated the tax revenue from TPE system is very significant. Like as on Jalan Agus Salim, the transaction is increasing from Rp 500 thousand to Rp 12 million per day after the system applied. 

Additional Tow Car Increases PAD DKI

"Then at Jalan Boulevard Kelapa Gading from Rp 4.7 million per day, its revenue is more than Rp 40 million and 6-7 million from initial revenue at Rp 280 thousand at Jalan Falatehan," he explained. 

Of the 12,281 on-street parking lot units (SRP) all over Jakarta, its revenue in 2014 was only Rp 7.8 billion per year. "Predictably, if TPE is applied on all SRP, the tax revenue from on-street parking could reach Rp 300 billion per year," he explained.

To realize it, he claimed, he is trying to apply it on 12,281 SRPs in South Jakarta. Including conducting investment auction to find the best TPE operator in Jakarta Financial and Asset Management Board (BPKAD). And he targets the application could be conducted gradually next year. 

"TPE is targeted to be installed gradually next year. We need at least 1,000 parking machines, we also predict it would be installed all over Jakarta in 2018," he closed.
